A wire fence sings in the gale,
holding me back
straining, pulling me
in ways that comfort
the dominant elite,

who do not want me to sing
my God given song.
I break through the wires,
let them go - they spring back
like a whip with discordant twang.

Fences built to curtail Christ’s call
to journey with the Trinity.
Yet in Christ’s power I am free
to sing my song. I walk with Christ -
No holding back.
