Deep Sojourn Prayer It’s morning, the Holy Spirit reminds me to slow down, move in His gracious peace, trust His pace. Yet my heart plagues my mind - imagined terrors of this unknown journey. It bangs on the doors to my mind, interupts the prayers of my soul. It’s a bailiff, unrelenting at my door each heart beat bangs loud, “stop, turn around, why go on?” I pray in silence, my tongues utterance seeks to silence the noise, rest in His presence: “Let this journey unfold in my Creator’s kairos - Fear not, I am not alone. Go on.” This treasured moment is time with Christ - solitude, to commune in inner silence - Just He and I. Letting Him take me deeper in. He says, “Stop wandering around. Come pilgrim, sojourn with me, I am your light, follow Me, journey deeper in, to hidden places you’ve never known before.” I ask: “How deep shall we go?” “Come pilgrim”, He replies, “Sojourn deeper like a Goose Beaked Whale into depths dark where daylight is hidden. Explore unseen layers of treasured virtues, see how they become monsters devoid of My light.” “Take me there Lord, that I may honour You above all, take me there to see what is hidden, beliefs I value yet encumber me there. Be a light to my senses to see the unseen Christ shine Your light into my deepest chasm." © Craig A Roberts, 2022 Goose Beaked Whale (Curvier's Beaked Whale) can dive 2,000 metres below the ocean's surface for 20 to 40 minutes. It is the deepest diving sea mammal. Preferred diet squid and octopus.
