Essence - Reflection

Outside Eden’s gates,
angelic guards wait with fiery swords,
block our way to the Tree of Life.
Beyond lies Anthropocene’s wastelands.
Here amid the thinness of smart technology,
the logic of post-modern minds,
many lived-meanings of good thrive:
Old, recent, new ones birthed
though not all blessed by God.

As we cross-over thresholds
into unfamiliar places and spaces
it is easy to uphold meanings of “good”
that deny love for our neigbour,
ignores communion with Ìosa Crìost,
the One who is our way to the Tree of Life.
