Sùil na fìor-eun
[Eye of an Eagle]

Athair, Mac agus Spiorad
three who are One,
let my eyes be transformed
in Your unconsuming fire:
Impure gold ablaze in flames,
of purity, simplicity and obedience
that I may gaze with an eagle’s eye,
into the eyes of Crìost with joy,
He who is brighter than the sun.

And I pray my phronema be fashioned
to follow an Dòigh Beatha ann an Crìost,
to become fully human
- the image of Crìost, the glory of Dhè -
my flesh be vivified by the Living Word;
And I ask an Spiorad Naomh,
guide my intellect to know
the one who is truth and wisdom
the Living Word:

The Word, with God and as God,
and the becoming flesh of this Word,
Crìost who is in the bosom
of the Father, who explained Him;
as set down in the Scriptures
and given to us by the Apostles.

Spiorad sanctify within Your truth,
fuse my horizon with that of Saint John,
beloved Apostle who leaned
on the breast of the Crìost.
Saint John - the eagle of Crìost,
first theologian who made known
the truth and wisdom of Crìost.

Mar sin beadh.
