Wild Kelp

An Gèadh Fiadhaich counsels me,
“Seek the counsel of wild kelp":

Kelp the sea's canopy of life
takes counsel from the ocean,
the ocean takes counsel from the wind,
the wind takes counsel from the Sùil An Latha,
and Sùil An Latha takes counsel
From Righ nan Dùl.

What is the counsel of Wild Kelp?
Give glory to Righ nan Dùl
for ocean’s unseen wonders:
A wilderness beneath the waves
from the depths of the abyss
to the edge of the sea.

To ignore the counsel of wild kelp
is to forever braid rope with sand.
