Joyful Intimacy Let me not mimic our coming together this day: A lover’s desire, over-anxious in waiting wedged between promise and fulfilment, lets presumption’s sway substitute some concrete ritual in its place. You come, knock at your lover’s door, there hear presumptions din the door closed to Your face. Astounded, You turn away shedding tears of grief. O Ìosa Crìost let this never be again, resurrect in joyful silence my waiting; my door wide open to Your embrace assured to feel Your breath on my face. © Craig A Roberts, 2023
